Wow! It seemed like it was going to be forever before I got a chance to go again. Unfortunately , fishing has to take a backseat to my family (as it should) so I'm just not going as often as I did when I was younger. It was still nice to get out and enjoy some time on the water and it was a much needed break from everything.
I went to one of our local urban waterways which is surprisingly clean , considering it runs through the middle of town. I was able to land 7 yes SEVEN trout in a little over an hour. Granted they were stocked trout , but at this point I've been without some pulling and splashing at the end of my line for far too long so I would have settled for creek chubs.
All of the trout were caught on jigs that a good friend of mine makes. I'm working on getting him to start selling them through a website of his own , so watch for that in the coming months.
I didn't take any pictures because I packed lightly. I only took my trusty trout rod and a handful of jigs , but it was enough to get some fish in my hands and put a smile on my face.
Now two jokes from my 6 year old who is sitting here waiting for me to get off of the blog :
Why do fish swim in salt water?
Because pepper makes them sneeze.
What do you call a witch that lives at the beach?
A sand-witch.
Gotta love it! I think I'll be turning the blog over to my little buddy sooner than I thought.
Have a great weekend!
JM, glad to see you were able to get out. This Long Island weather is making me NUTS. Two more inches of that white stuff this morning :-(
