A New Book by A Great Blogger

Not much going on in my little corner of the world right now. I'm not fishing much , so that really puts a damper on my writing here on my fishing blog. It happens , I'll be back to normal soon enough.

In other news , fellow blogger Shoreman (AKA Mark - you may have read his comments here on the blog before , great guy) has an awesome project in the works and he's giving everyone a sneak peek. He's doing something I will probably only accomplish in my dreams , becoming a published writer.

I have nothing but respect for Mark , and I'm proud to say I'm associated with him through blogging. I'll probably just wait and get a Kindle version , but I'm thinking about having him sign one to me as "The most handsome fisherman alive..."

Enough about me , head straight over to Mark's blog and see what all the fuss is about. I really like the title , but I'll let it surprise you. Go check it out and reserve your copy at NorthernCaliforniaTrout.com

And , because I know Mark will see this , best of luck with the book man! I'm hoping to see you at the top of the NYTimes bestseller list soon!

Have a great weekend!

Roanoke Valley Optimist's 44th Annual Fishing Tournament on Smith Mountain Lake

Coming up in about a month is the Cave Spring Optimist's 2012 Fishing Tournament at Gill's Creek Marina on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake. I usually fish every year , but the jury's still out on whether or not I make it this year.

Our local news does little to cover the event except for making a token showing during the week of the tourney and to ogle the fish during the weigh in. The mailers the Optimist's club sends out just hit my mailbox a few days ago , so I thought I should probably put the dates and times up for everyone who has landed here looking for info lately.

This years tournament will be held May 4th , 5th and 6th , starting on Friday the 4th and running until noon on the 6th. Official winners will be announced following polygraph testing at the Marina.

Good luck!
