I grew up catching "red eyes" , aka Rock Bass. Now, living in another state, it's came to my attention that there is a separate species here that gets a little bigger and looks a little different. Who knows? Still looks like a red eye to me, but maybe not. I'll have to look into how to tell them apart...

Here locally there's a persistent belief that our local river is more raw sewage and toxic waste than actual water. I'm not sure why , but the majority of people are extremely wary of it , even though the water is fairly clean by just about any standard. There are factories on the water that have fed the myth of toxic sludge being pumped into the water by greedy capitalists , or something. Everybody else can believe what they want , I know the fish look healthy and there are thousands of them if you know where to look. It's been fun doing some urban exploration the last few days...
Have a good weekend!
